10/1 Homework Library Orientation!

In the last class, we had a library orientation and learned how to use multiples of tools online. To be honest, even if we had learned it last semester about how to utilize the OED, Gale and Lexis Nexis, I never really used them efficiently. However, going over the use of them in last class, I figured it is a shame not to make use of these tools when it makes my research a whole lot easier and takes me to the next level. Therefore, whenever I have something that I have to research for my paper or for other classes, I would go online and make use of this. In addition, I reassured that, Grammerly is highly useful when it comes to essays. Again, I had never thought of using this, however, I will take my time to post writings on there and enhance my writing skills.
In the orientation, other new tools were introduced which I had never heard of; REFWORKS and Mendeley. For REFWORKS, I was surprised that it consists 3200 types of writing styles and for Mendeley, it amused me how it contains a system that is similar to Facebook which allows us to share our documents. As I have mentioned it in my previous blog posts, I am not very good working with technologies, therefore, I would try to attend to one of the workshops that were introduced in the lecture and learn step by step on how to use these efficiently and effectively.

Thanks for reading!:)

  1. Hi Mana!
I also thought that although I'm not used to technologies, there is no reason not to use it to improve my paper. By the way, since I haven't really understood what REFWORKS or Mendeley was, your blog taught me many information!:) Nice blog!

  2. Hi Mana,
    Nice blog!
I actually have never used Grammerly before. But I agree with you, and I think I will definitely use it for my nexy essay because it seems very helpful for improving my writing.
I can relate to you, because I'm very bad at using technology. Hpopefully, these orientations and the RandP class will make me a better user of devices.
